A Closer Look (Part 84)

Palanga, Lithuania, about 1920. I know little about this gentle man, expect that he is a relative on my paternal Grandfather's side.

Here's the original post.

A Closer Look (Part 78)

Palanga, Lithuania, about 1920. Nothing about this image says "1920." Several people in our family also resemble this girl.

Here's the original post.

A Closer Look (Part 77)

Palanga, Lithuania, about 1920. This woman is another relative of my paternal Grandfather, Vytautas. She, too, has several descendants who look like her.

Here's the original post.

A Closer Look (Part 54)

Palanga, Lithuania, about 1920. This is my paternal Grandfather, Vytautas. He was 26 years old in 1920. Family members referred to Vytautas as "the grey one" because his hair color changed when he was quite young.

We don't have many photos of him in civilian clothing; I would enjoy seeing him wearing that hat.

Here's the original post.

Here's the original post.

Kaunas, Lithuania, about 1936. I earlier posted a cropped version of this photo of my paternal Grandfather, Vytautas, and his daughter, Jonė.

Thanks to my Kaunas Cousin for making this original available to us.

A Closer Look (Part 6)

Kaunas, Lithuania, about 1925. I linger on this photo because it's the only one we have in which my paternal Grandparents, Tatjana and Vytautas, appear together (I exclude this composite).

Reaching Back

Tambov, Russia, 1902. This is my Great-Grandmother, Nina K. Here's the original post.

This image shows Nina K. visiting her daughter, Tatjana, and Tatjana's twins. Here's Nina K. later in life. This post explains why Nina K. looked so rattled later in life.

Revisiting Another Image

Kaunas, Lithuania, 1927. Here's my Mom with her Mom, Jadzė. This photo appeared early in the blog's history.

Let's take a snapshot for Tatjana.

Kaunas, Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic, June 1958. Friends of my paternal Grandmother, Tatjana, send her a "We miss you" photo.

Old Friends

Kaunas, Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic, June 1958. This photo turned up in the new batch of images my Kaunas Cousin. Kaunas Cousin's maternal Grandmother, Suzanne, stands in the back, just right of the center. I think this photo was taken the same day as the snapshot my paternal Grandmother, Tatjana, received—likely from Suzanne.

Consider how our perception of aging changes as we grow older. These women were of Tatjana's generation, so most of them—probably with the exception of the woman on the far left—here would have been in their late fifties or early sixties.

Thanks to my Kaunas Cousin for making this photo available to us.
