Lawn Art

Verona, Wisconsin, August 2012. She's "living art."

Dressed Up

Suburban Chicago, December 1972. My paternal Grandmother, usually wore a housecoat around the house. She's likely dressed up here, in her royal blue suit, because it's the holiday season. Two clues indicate it's Christmas time: (1) cookies are cooling, and Tatjana's ready to put them in the familiar, gold tin; and (2) Tatjana wears a wreath brooch.

Summer Memory

Probably near Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada, July 1957. My Dad's twin sister, Jonė, and her daughtermy Toronto Cousinvisit a favorite spot.

Thanks to my Toronto Cousin for making this photo available to us.

The hat with a history.

Lake Nipissing, Ontario, Canada, July 1964. My paternal Grandmother, Tatjana, holds the hat during her visit to our vacation spot.

School starts next week.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada, May 1961. Pull up next to the Comet and soak up a summer memory.

He made it.

Verona, Wisconsin, August 2014. The feral cats did not find this nest.

Travel the Tri-State

Suburban Chicago, October 1961. Dad may have driven the tollway to reach O'Hare. At the end of the clip, he exits the Eisenhower Expressway in Maywood, at the First Avenue ramp.

Probably near Vilinius, Lithuania, about mid-1920s. This may be a maternal Aunt or cousin of Suzanne, the wife of my Dad's older cousin Henry.

Thanks to my Kaunas Cousin for making this photo available to us.

Verona, Wisconsin, August 23, 2014. Today's rainstorm brought out the playful youngsters.

She brought the grey knitting bag.

Glacier National Park, Montana, July 1966. It must have been a leisurely hike  (probably to Redrock Falls); Mom's not wearing hiking boots. (Here's a color photo in which the bag appears.)

A Closer Look (Part 4)

Mariampolis, Lithuania, 1920. This is my Mom's maternal Grandmother, Zigmunta. She's here, in her later years. Here's the original post.

The Baltic Way

The Baltic States today celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Baltic Way.

Here's Google's Doodle for the day.

The end of the tour.

Provincetown, Massachusetts, July 1963. It's a small tour boat.

This was an exciting day for a toddler.

Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada, July 1960. The vacation is almost over, and I enjoy the remaining water time.

Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada, July 1957. My Toronto Cousin and her mother—my Dad's twin sister, Jonė—create a memory.
