Risk Averse
Melrose Park, Illinois, June 1962. I hold on tight in the Kiddieland ring. I took several pony rides that summer.

Suburban Chicago, June 1962. The Jewel Food Store at Winston Plaza occasionally sponsored pony rides. Mr. Irene had a more interesting experience there.

The Pooch's Pony
BeAnne, the
terrier, likes to ride Shetland Ponies.
(The ponies are the same ones that wear fair-isle cardigans.)

Hang on!
For me, there were few things better than a pony ride.
Suburban Chicago, September 1962. It doesn't get better than this. I take a spin on a pony at Kiddieland. I wear one of the sweaters Mom knitted for me. It was a navy-blue cardigan.
