... so there aren't that many pictures of him with me. My favorite photo of Dad and me is this
one.
I also like the one I post here because it looks like Dad is instructing Mom on how to set up the shot:
Mackinac Island, Michigan, July 1961. I'm not sitting still during the picture taking.

Tourist Pleasure
Mackinaw City, Michigan, July 1961. I nibble on an ice-cream cone while
Mom enjoys one, too. I'm also watching over that plaid,
knitting bag.

Don't you find the view absorbing?
Mackinac Island, Michigan, July 1961. We've arrived at Mackinac Island, but I am not interested in the scenery.
Mom's knitting bag resembles the plaid valise Barbie carried in the early 1960s.

Grand Hotel
Mackinac Island, Michigan, July 1961. We can't afford to stay at the Grand Hotel, but we certainly enjoy its beauty during our visit to the island.

Mackinac Island, Michigan, July 1961. If you want to get around the island, then hire a horse-drawn buggy.

Mackinac Island Ferry
Mackinaw City, Michigan, July 1961. Mom entertains me while we ride the ferry. It looks like she might be tempting me with a sandwich wrapped in waxed paper. I'll bet there's a knitting project in that bag. I loved that skirt, and I wish she had saved it. It was sewn in a gauzy cotton that was perfect for summer.
