The House, Later
Kaunas, Lithuania, September 7, 1997. My Mom's friend Joy sent this photo of Mom's childhood home. Mom's parents, Jadzė and Jake, incurred quite a bit of debt building it. It was a wooden structure; the builders put moss between the logs and then plastered the interior walls.
It's nice to see the residents retained the "veranda room."

Figure Skating
The only sport I ever "followed" was figure skating. For several years, Mr. Irene and I attended the "Stars on Ice" show when it arrived in our town. Back then, we were bona fide "fans," and we secured "ice" seats that were level with the skaters.
In 1996 or 1997, we felt the ice shavings hit our cheeks as we watched Take Five.
