Sometimes, when I am preoccupied or agitated, I find that it's best to knit for a little while.
Suburban Chicago, May 1968. Mom and I knit in the Rec Room. Mom's gray knitting satchel is at her moccasined feet. Behind her, on the formica shelf, are some of my art projects. For a while, I enjoyed using colored beans and painted stones to make three-dimensional pictures.
Check out the great table lamp! I wish we still had that. The Danish-modern furniture has gotten a modernized face lift: floral upholstery has replaced its original, striped fabric.
