Related by Marriage: Father's Day, Way-Back-When

Bridgeport, Chicago, Illinois, 1935. Mr. Irene's maternal Grandfather, Stanley, celebrates the day with his daughters, Martha and Mr. Irene's Mom. The trio poses on the family home's back porch.

Dad was usually the one taking the photos ...

... so there aren't that many pictures of him with me. My favorite photo of Dad and me is this one.

I also like the one I post here because it looks like Dad is instructing Mom on how to set up the shot:

Mackinac Island, Michigan, July 1961. I'm not sitting still during the picture taking.

Happy Father's Day

Verona, Wisconsin, April 2007. Happy Father's Day to Mr. Irene, who lovingly cares for our canine crew.

Snapshot of the Photographers

Glacier National Park, Montana, July 1972. This is how I remember my Dad: wearing a beret, dangling a camera around his neck, and loving my Mom.

Sunday Paper: Father's Day Edition

Suburban Chicago, April 1961. Dad's in the living room. He's wearing that familiar shirt with the faded brown plaid pattern.

Happy Father's Day

Sleeping Bear Dunes, Michigan, July 1961. Dad keeps me company in the sand.
