Watching the Christmas Programs
Suburban Chicago, December 25, 1965. Our Canadian relatives are visiting again for the holidays. The excitement is over: it's Christmas Day, and we relax in the Rec Room. My Dad's twin sister, Jonė, sits in the back and her daughter, my Toronto Cousin, inadvertently mimics her Mom's posture. Jonė's husband, Kadis, attentively watches the television. My Mom—why she is wearing a sleeveless top in December, I don't know—knits away.
