A Lifetime of Friendships
Suburban Chicago, December 1964 or January 1965. My friend Kris—on the far left—and her Parents, Donna and Vytenis, join my family for a group shot. We're sitting on the couch at Kris's house. It may be Christmas Day or New Year's Eve. A decorated Christmas tree reflects in the mirror. The familiar white-tree candle sits in the terrarium, and there are Fannie May chocolates on the coffee table.
The adults enjoy a bit of Courvoisier with their smokes.
About twenty-four years ago, my Mom gave me the dress she wore in this photo. It has a three-quarter sleeved bolero that fits over the sleeveless dress. It is the perfect "little black" number.
