Buxtehude, Germany, March 28, 1948. This document certified my Dad's role as a Boy-Scout leader at the Schweinfurt Displaced Persons camp. I suspect Dad secured the certification for his travel to the Isarhorn Jamboree.

Camp Aušra (later Camp Kretinga), Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada, 1963. Many participated in the Lithuanian summer camp.

Exchanging Portraits (Part 15)

Schweinfurt, Germany, March 15, 1949. This fellow was my Dad's friend. He gave Dad the snapshot shortly before he emigrated to North America. The friend appeared earlier in my first scouting post.

This photo doesn't look almost sixty-five years old. I see something contemporary in the expression and the clothing.

Repurposed Space

Schweinfurt, Germany, about 1947. The Displaced Persons camp had no church, so refugees celebrated Masses in a barn. This also is the space in which my Parents got married.

Some were young adults, and some were little squirrels.

Chaperoning

Isarhorn, Germany, August 2 to 14, 1948. When my Dad traveled to the third National Scouting Jamboree, he was a young adult. Many young scouts also made the trip.
