We heard them, but we did not see them.

Verona, Wisconsin, March 11, 2016. Sandhill Cranes woke me up this morning. Their calls continued for several minutes. So we still wait.

(Rex heard them, too.)

My volume was up, but I'm notoriously hard of hearing distant bird calls.

Glad the kids are back.

Waves upon waves on the 11th, here as well. Just glorious, particularly when they gyre. Do they do so to gather stragglers, regiment the v's, or just lollygag? Other groups had flown low in stormy skies the previous week, and they were revealed as clumsy, fender-bender fliers.
