A friend of Tatjana (my paternal Grandmother) sent this photo. The friend wrote, "I'm finally checking the garden and flower beds at winter's end. My
husband is still asleep, and the tulips already are waking up from the ground, readying for a new life."

No doubt things were looking up for them.
The late 1950s and early 1960s still were pretty bad.
