Hello, Friend!

Kaunas, Lithuania, January 24, 1940. My Mom's high-school classmate presents a photo. This was the era when it became fashionable for young women to acquire custom-made folk costumes.

I would have thought January would have been freezing cold, but it's a beautiful outfit.

Doubtless part of the fashion was patriotic in nature.

Mom's friend inscribed the photo in January. I suspect it was taken during the preceding summer.
