This is a Lithuanian-school textbook, Kregždutė. "Kregždutė" means "swallow" in Lithuanian.

Melrose Park, Illinois, about 1968 through 1970. The text featured historical stories, poems, and cultural narratives. The only passage I colored and marked "read this" is the one about the Templar Knights' forced conversion of the pagan Lithuanians. That's interesting!

Melrose Park, Illinois, about 1968 through 1970. I don't know why I wrote, "Waltzing mice/6 female/3 male" on the back cover. Later, Babe became one of my favorite movies. I sometimes said, in a mousy voice, "a tragic day" at the beginning of the last class of the semester. ("Pork is a nice, sweet meat" comes up occasionally at dinner.)
