Wow. We have many hawks in our vicinity. It's one of the reasons we won't let the dogs out unattended. No electric fence for us.
We do electric fence (the pups can drive you-know-who nuts on occasion), but they rarely go out without somebody riding shotgun.
Good idea. We have coyotes here, too.
