Dad was usually the one taking the photos ...

... so there aren't that many pictures of him with me. My favorite photo of Dad and me is this one.

I also like the one I post here because it looks like Dad is instructing Mom on how to set up the shot:

Mackinac Island, Michigan, July 1961. I'm not sitting still during the picture taking.

When The Blonde had that look in her baby pics, her mother had just said, "Make a snoot"

Oh! I forgot to add the "facial expression" label.

Thanks for the reminder.

Happy Father's Day!

Hi Peter! Welcome back. I hope you had a good day. I know this was a tougher one for you.

Thanks.

Went looking for a photo of my dad and me to post on facebook (yes, I finally caved), and nearly every one has me in that "directing the photographer" pose.

I caved, too.

My extended family uses FB to keep up-to-date, and I've also tapped into a network of former colleagues.

I expect that I'll start to post old family photos on FB, though I really admire the project you've created with this blog. This feels more like a well-curated archive. Everything on facebook feels random.

Thanks, Peter. I started by posting old family photos on FB, and then someone observed that I was using FB like a blog! Haha.

My postings here are not chronological, but the "Labels" help organize things. I usually open up an album or envelope each day, and then I see what catches my eye.
