The Feast Day of St. Francis

Today is the Feast Day of St. Francis. I unsuccessfully sought a place in our vicinity for a pet blessing. Years ago, we used to take the dogs to Holy Wisdom Monastery for the annual ritual. But Holy Wisdom doesn't sponsor the blessings any longer.

Ah, even the American Catholic's "Do-It-Yourself Pet Blessing" link is broken. Perhaps we'll settle with a Pet Blessing e-Greeting.

Take a moment today to think about the animals in your life. Their tender companionship and unconditional bond lift the shade out of even the darkest days.
