Beardmore, Ontario, Canada, 1947 or 1948. Vladas, the Father-in-Law of my Toronto Cousin, stands (on the left)—again with a friend—in northern Ontario. Even though Vladas and his fellow Displaced Person were poor and working under harsh circumstances, the men had sharp styles. The men likely developed their senses of style before they emigrated.
