I seem to have watched a lot of television while I was holding a hamster:

It's a good idea to keep an eye on a hamster because you never know what kind of mischief it otherwise will find:

Ah, the hamster-fever of the early 60's. The high point our ownership: an escapee scuttled via baseboard into the walls, only to reappear -- triumphant -- on my sleeping mother's chest, 3 a.m.
Surely did bolster our arguments for a dog.
Our hamster Shakespeare beheaded his cage mate, Hamlet. What a mess. That bolstered our arguments for a dog!
