General Manners: Control yourself when you say "goodbye."
Suburban Chicago, July 1961. My Dad is about to take my paternal Grandmother, Tatjana, to the train station in the Loop. Tatjana will travel to Toronto, where she will spend the summer with her daughter, Jonė. Tatjana is wearing sensible travel clothes. She hasn't forgotten, however, to put on that hat with the beige flowers.
