Fashion Statements
Suburban Chicago, Spring 1961. My paternal Grandmother, Tatjana, and my Mom are in the backyard. Each has a pair of gloves to match the ensemble. Tatjana wears a hat that I remember: it was beige (my favorite color!!), and it had silk roses. Mom has a hat with a little netting, and she's wearing that mink stole with the taxidermied head and feet. It all looks crazy! But Mom's pocketbook would look great today, fifty-one years later.
