Kaunas, Lithuania, October 1, 1940. This is the "Tenth Class" of my Dad's high school, Aušros Gimnazija. Dad stands in the back row, second from left, wearing eye glasses. I had not noticed until today that a little mascot, a Boston Terrier dog (or stuffed animal), sits in the second row.
My Dad remembered his time at Aušros Gimnazija with great fondness. When graduates of the school organized elaborate reunions in North America, Dad served on the organizational committees, and he was responsible for restoring the high-school photographs.
