Funny story - we had some old, rotted railroad ties in the little embankment at the side of the driveway and Sherlock was forever trying to sniff out the chipmunks that would hide in them.
Well, one day Mighty Hunter got his wish and one stuck up his head right under Sherlock's nose. He must have jumped a foot (OMG, what was that?) and run halfway back to the house before he realized what had happened.
