I was just thinking today that I would go skating this winter. I haven't been in years! I asked Mr Kris if he would go with me and bring some crutches just in case....just kidding...
I didn't know your dad skated. My dad and I used to go all the time. We would have invited him to come with us had we known!
Dad liked to skate in the early Sixties. After his health started to decline, he rarely went. There are many photos of him skating on Silver Creek--before it got so polluted it never froze.
My dad went skating with me in the Eighties after we bought our house; our park district does a pretty good job with the ice rinks. He could still skate rings around me even then; he was in his early 60's.

I still have his skates.
Ah, nice!
When I was a full-time pedestrian, I really appreciated what a hat does for you in the cold weather.
As I get older, and colder, I still wear a watch cap.
