"I've been sprung from the kitchen."

Suburban Chicago, Summer 1963. That's what my paternal Grandmother, Tatjana, wrote on the back of this photo. She sent the image to her daughter, Jonė. The message was a way of underscoring Tatjana's belief that she was always cooking.
