Enjoy simple things.

Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada, July 1960. My Dad's twin sister, Jonė, and my Mom watch as I "finger paint" the sand.

Too bad there's no ocean.

That first discovery of the waves is always one that thrills and fascinates.

I always thought of the Great Lakes as little oceans.

That's what they are.

One of The Blonde's best buds was in the Coast Guard Auxiliary for many years and he said the reason people get into trouble boating on the Lakes is they think of them as lakes.

He said, "Don't think 'Big lake', think 'Small ocean'".

Think about what happened to the "Edmund Fitzgerald".
