Black Smoke


Vatican City, October 1983. During my "behind-the-scenes tour" of the Vatican, I enjoyed a private viewing of the Sistine Chapel. I lay on the chapel's floor when I took this photo of the ceiling.

The restoration of the ceiling occurred after my visit.
