The Museum of Science and Industry

If you're a regular visitor here, then you know that I spent most Sundays at Brookfield Zoo.

Occasionally, my Dad would take us to one of the "big" museums in the city. Although a trip downtown always was an adventure, I sometimes felt shortchanged by the brilliant museums. I was more interested in interacting with animals than in visiting static exhibits.

The Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, Illinois, June 1961. We visit the NASA exhibit. The area is crowded; we are here just one month after astronaut Alan B. Shepard, Jr. flew to space.

The Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, Illinois, June 1961. Frustration. If we can't go to the zoo, then can we instead at least visit The Field Museum?
