Autumn Fashions
Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Autumn 1950. This is another snapshot from the mystery event. There's a sign on the door—written in Lithuanian—announcing a dance event. I earlier posted more photos from this day here, here, and here.
Thanks to my Toronto Cousin for making this photo available to us.

We're still not sure.
My
Dad's twin sister, Jonė, posed with friends on the same occasion she and her
husband appeared sharing a laugh. Neither Jonė's daughter—my Toronto Cousin—nor I can
determine what was going on here. We've eliminated the marriage-license theory.
Perhaps Jonė and her husband, Kadis, had just witnessed their friends' marriage
ceremony?
Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Autumn 1950. Jonė's woman friend is quite dressed up.
Thanks to my Toronto Cousin for making this photo available to us.

What's going on here?
We're not sure what my Dad's twin sister, Jonė, and her husband, Kadis, were doing in this photo. At first, I thought that perhaps the snapshot commemorated the moment they secured a marriage license. But that's not correct, because my Toronto Cousin reports that Jonė and Kadis had married one year earlier, before someone took the photo.
Could it depict the day they became Canadian citizens? Are they celebrating their first anniversary? We're just not sure. But it sure was an adorably sweet moment.
Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Autumn 1950. This photo readily captures Jonė's charming, impish sense of humor and Kadis's gentle, glowing nature.
